ExpressMED is locally owned and led by cofounder Shane LaHood, a Lafayette native, with Dr. R. John Higginbotham as Medical Director. When you walk in, you are seeing neighbors.
Dr. Higginbotham serves as Medical Director of ExpressMED. He oversees the clinical care our team provides and works alongside Shane and our staff to keep every visit thorough, safe and focused on the patient in front of us.

Shane has spent his career in the moments that matter. He served in Desert Storm, worked as a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance, then trained as a physician assistant through the U.S. military's Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Patients ask for him by name, and their reviews say the same thing again and again: he listens.
